Headstart Hatching is seeking a diligent and reliable individual to join our team as an Industrial Maintenance Supervisor!
$2000 SIGN ON BONUS
The maintenance supervisor will lead a team of maintenance technicians. You need to be an active and involved leader with an employee-first attitude. You will be responsible for maintaining all the equipment in our state-of-the-art turkey hatchery, which includes egg incubators, hatchers, robotic machinery, control systems and the general facility.

The maintenance supervisor will lead a team of maintenance technicians. You need to be an active and involved leader with an employee-first attitude. You will be responsible for maintaining all the equipment in our state-of-the-art turkey hatchery, which includes egg incubators, hatchers, robotic machinery, control systems and the general facility.
Management:
- Schedule maintenance staff, assign tasks and responsibilities.
- Train and equip the maintenance staff to efficiently carry out their duties.
- Provide hands-on guidance, mentoring and performance feedback to develop skilled maintenance technicians.
Maintenance services:
- Diagnose and resolve complex mechanical issues unique to our turkey hatchery.
- Analyze root causes for equipment failures affecting poult hatching.
- Maintain the machinery and the general facility (including HVAC, boilers, chillers, generators, air compressors, plumbing, electrical systems and fire alarm systems).
- Coordinate with outside service providers for maintenance services.
Administrative support:
- Maintain an up-to-date inventory and ensure parts are available for routine and preventative maintenance duties.
- Records and maintains maintenance logs.
- Ensures that all maintenance services comply with applicable state guidelines (e.g., building standards, EPA, etc.).
- Communicates any service outages or issues to the hatchery manager.
Safety:
- Promotes a safe work environment by ensuring all equipment is operating properly.
- Verify compliance with safety procedures for the maintenance staff.
- Provide safety procedure and process input as part of the safety team.
Knowledge:
- Understanding of mechanical and electrical systems is necessary (e.g., solenoids, pumps, fans, sensors, etc.)
- Familiarity with remote monitoring and control systems (e.g., SCADA) is preferred.
- Poultry embryology, development and hatching knowledge is a plus.
Skills and abilities:
- Strong interpersonal skills and good communication.
- Organized and detailed.
- Competence in using software for scheduling, maintenance logs, inventory and communications.
- Physical ability to stand for extended periods of time, lift up to 50 lbs and perform repetitive tasks.
- Bilingual is a plus (Spanish and English).
Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent (i.e., GED).
- Minimum of two (2) years of leadership experience in the maintenance and repair field.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Certifications or licensures are a plus:
- HVAC
- Class B boiler’s license
- Plumbing
- Electrical
